The Witch and the Wizard:The Manga
by James Patterson with Svetlana Chmakova

Published September 20, 2011 by Yenn Press.

I got this book at my home town library it's one of my favorites.

Imagine waking up and the police take you a way from your home, your friends, and your family.  Well that is what happened to Whit and Wisty Allgood. They got taken away and put in a jail kind of thing. They never knew why until Wisty got so mad that she burst into flames, for real IN flames. She was ok, it turned out to be some magic that she had.  Whit finds out that he can use electricity to shock people. The siblings got put in a facility and one day Whit's ex girlfriend showed up inside a wall.  It was called the Shadow Land.  Her name was Celia and the N.O. got her and killed her.  The N.O. is the organization that wants to kill Whisy and Whit because of their powers. Celia took them to a safe place and they stayed there for a while.  The N.O couldn't get them there.  Soon Wisty and Whit went out and they got capurted.

To find out what happens next you will have to read the book.  If you liked the sound of this book I would go get it.  The Witch and the Wizard is a serious and I will be doing more reviews of them.  It is a fantasy and a really good one.  I hope you would read this book.  Thank you for reading my review.

Cardboard by Doug TenNapel

Cardboard by Doug TenNapel
Published August 1, 2012 by GRAPHIX
288 pages
I got my copy from my hometown library.
This book is a graphic novel.
A Maine Student Book Award book for 2013-14

Cardboard is a great graphic novel.   Cam's dad gave him cardboard for his birthday because they don't have much money and Cam's dad is out of work.  What they didn't know was that the cardboard was magical. Cam and his dad built a cardboard boxer.  The next day the boxer came to life.  Cam named him Bill. Marcus is Cam's enemy and did not understand Bill and how he came to life.  He hated how Bill was so cool and was jealous. The cardboard was almost gone until Cam's dad made a magic cardboard maker and it worked.
Marcus stole the cardboard maker and put his drawings into it.  Since Marcus is mean his drawings were mean.  Cam and his dad and Bill were going to get the maker back. Cam got kidnapped and so was Marcus. Bill and the dad were going to save them.  Cam and Marcus were trying to find a way out.  Can they make it back?  Will they be enemies forever?

This book is about friendship and courage.  You will love how loving and nice Bill and Cam are. The dad is also very kind.   You will have different feelings throughout the book.  I was happy, sad, and curious.  I hope you have a chance to read this book, it's a good one.
