This book is a graphic novel.
A Maine Student Book Award book for 2013-14

Cardboard is a great graphic novel.   Cam's dad gave him cardboard for his birthday because they don't have much money and Cam's dad is out of work.  What they didn't know was that the cardboard was magical. Cam and his dad built a cardboard boxer.  The next day the boxer came to life.  Cam named him Bill. Marcus is Cam's enemy and did not understand Bill and how he came to life.  He hated how Bill was so cool and was jealous. The cardboard was almost gone until Cam's dad made a magic cardboard maker and it worked.
Marcus stole the cardboard maker and put his drawings into it.  Since Marcus is mean his drawings were mean.  Cam and his dad and Bill were going to get the maker back. Cam got kidnapped and so was Marcus. Bill and the dad were going to save them.  Cam and Marcus were trying to find a way out.  Can they make it back?  Will they be enemies forever?

This book is about friendship and courage.  You will love how loving and nice Bill and Cam are. The dad is also very kind.   You will have different feelings throughout the book.  I was happy, sad, and curious.  I hope you have a chance to read this book, it's a good one.
